Terms of Service

The rules for using this site and the Vigilance software.
Written in plain English, because you have to read them.

Who you are dealing with

Vigilance and vigihq.com are operated by Modul4r Solutions (Marcello Delcaro), based in Alberta, Canada. When these terms say "we", that is who they mean. Questions go to hello@modul4r.com.

If you use the site or install the software, these terms apply. If you do not agree with them, do not use either.

Your license

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to run Vigilance on your machines. Pro covers one company on any number of machines: the licence file names no computers and counts no seats, it carries an end date, and it works offline. Free is licensed per company too, and is conditional on the software reaching us with its report on every run, so it does not run offline.

You can use it for any lawful purpose, commercial included. You cannot resell, rent, or sublicense the software, and you cannot remove or fake its license checks. We keep all rights we do not grant here.

Your files stay on your machine. We never receive your code, a path or a file name. On Pro the software opens no connection at all. On Free each run posts a signed report to us: the install id, the Vigilance version, the hash of each file it scanned, the powers found in it, light structural heuristics, and the key and time. Free requires this report on every run and will not run without a network connection. See the Privacy Policy.

Payments and cancellation

Pro bills monthly through Stripe at one flat price for the company, plus any tax that applies. There is no quantity and no per-machine charge. Prices are on the pricing page and can change; a change never applies to a period you already paid for.

Cancel any time from the Stripe billing link in your receipt email, or email us. No fresh licence is issued after that, so the last file you hold keeps working until its end date and then stops. There is no lock-in and no cancellation fee.

If something you paid for does not work, email hello@modul4r.com and we make it right. Nothing in these terms removes refund rights that consumer law gives you. If you get a refund, the license keeps working until the period you paid for ends.

Acceptable use of the site

The live sandbox and the download servers are shared. Do not flood them, probe them, or try to break them. Rate limits enforce this automatically. Security researchers who find a real problem are welcome to report it to hello@modul4r.com.

No warranty

Vigilance is provided as is. We work hard to make it accurate, but no security tool catches everything, and we do not promise it will. It reports what changed between two versions; the decision to trust an update stays yours. To the maximum extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose.

Limit of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or lost data. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only where the law permits.

Changes and governing law

If these terms change, the new version appears here with a new date. A change never shrinks a license period you already paid for. These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada.
